Hey Guys- It's Dan Catullo, the Director & Producer of "Changes" and other Godsmack DVD's. We are currently on tour with the band on Crue Fest shooting a new film/documentary on the band. This project will be filmed over the next year and will be very special. We are looking for die hard fans and fans with interesting Godsmack stories to interview while we are out here. If you think you have an interesting story to tell that the other Godsmack fans will find interesting, please e-mail me at dan@dc3global.com
Thanks for your help!

I think I qualify, and I think this is a good oppurtunity to let go. I will be drunk as a skunk for this interview, alas, talked about like it's my life. Good combination, right? I just watched 'Changes' the other night and man, can this guy direct a great fucking documentary! I will have to think about a good story about how this band has affected my life, which others can enjoy and relate to as well. Looking forward to the summer EVEN more. |

| The concert of my life. |

So it has a little truth. I am not good with journals anymore. And whatever that means, I do not update as much as I have in the past. Living on your own creats all new challenges, and some that need attention more than others. It's opened up my eyes to a lot of new things, and I dig it. Thursday night (Happy 21st birthday Vladamir Smich) I went to an event that was so amazingly cool that it makes me want to pursue the life of a rockstar. Sully Erna of Godsmack, in Niagara Falls, NY.
Completely by himself and just an acoustic guitar, and a piano. I went up there with my dad and his friend. Before the show I played Eighteen holes of golf at the very tough Ravenwood in Victor, NY (Sight of the 2001 NYS amateur) Shot an 85. Did well. Anyways!
Seneca Niagara casino is fucking NICE! Played a little blackjack before the show. Kept on going back and forth from the table to the bar for more caronas. And then I sit next to the most beautiful gal. Well, she sat next to me, and we kicked it off for the entire night. ANYWAYS (Ahem!...)
I've been following this guy for the past 12 years or more, and this was the FIRST time (seriously!!!) that he had ever taken the stage by him self, with NOBODY at his back (Besides Fro his guitar tech.) My seat was LITERALLY on the fucking stage. Amazing! This place was so fucking small, I could barely swing a golf club without hitting a wall.
Sully came out on stage, and busted right into Asleep off the acoustic record. At this point, I was pissing and shitting my self left and right. And it was only the 1st note of the 1st song! Ha...
Other songs he player were Voodoo, Running Blind, Keep Away, Homeward(new song), and he did covers of Dream On, Nothing Else Matters, and Would. He spent alot of time talking to the crowd about how music can evoke all sorts of emotions and feelings and also about his childhood. I was a bit disappointed in the crowd - not much respect being shown for the man. Lots of people talking, getting up... like they were at a real rock show, not an intimate gathering, you know? Anyway, he also sang a couple new songs - one about children with AIDS...really touching. The BEST part was the end when he played an absolutely beautiful piece on the piano which ended with him jamming out the theme from Halloween....VERY cool! The last song he sang was Hey Jude and while we were all singing along to "na na na naaaaaa" he simply waved and walked off the stage. Amazing!
After the performance, I just waited in the showroom. His guitar tech handed out guitar pics. And I got to thank Sully, and got a picture taken with him by the casino staff.
One memorable night. |
